Comedian David Alan Grier, best known for the characters he portrayed in the '90s comedic variety show, In Living Color, chronicles his 6 hour and 23 minute trek in the Los Angeles Marathon:
"Look at me! I'm running a marathon. It's exciting! It's exciting ... for about a mile and a half."
"I got to mile 23 ... my nipples were bleeding!"
"I started this race, the 1st Sunday in March. By the time I crossed the finish line, it was the 4th of July!"
In preparation for some of the awesome initiatives and project launches I've had the honor of working with (*ahem* and developing) ... It's really time for me to step back; recalibrate my strategy and focus on FINISHING out the weight loss phase of this journey.
I continue to desire a body that is as much of an example as my message. That personal drive, partnered with my passion to facilitate accessibility and empower others to seek better health - will continue to fuel me. Updates will be forthcoming. Thanks for the support! And I'll SEE y'all soon - literally! ;o)
LMBOOO! That "wall" he speaks of, is sooo real. I hit mine at mile 18, during my marathon. I will never forget that!
ReplyDeleteHa @ finishing in July. Man...I was the last of 3 people in my half last year. I'd need until September, if we're starting in March.
