The day I'm able to stick that side crane pose, the WORLD is going to know about it, lol! Intertwined with my regime of running, cardio and weight training, lies yoga. I've always dabbled with it throughout my journey, but this year, I began to fall in love with the practice. The strengthening, relaxation and slimming properties, have been astounding!

So, whether you've only entertained the idea of doing some yoga or you already have some 'Namaste' in the bag, this is a chance to grab a few accessories to compliment your next session. The contest will run through Tuesday, August 3, 2010 - 11:59pm. Just enter your info into the widget below and two (2) winners will be randomly selected. Good luck! ~PC

Songwriter/Producer Jazze Pha Drops 73lbs, Pitches Weight Loss Reality Show

"Ladies and gentlemen," is the signature call heard on a host of ATL Hip Hop and R+B tracks. And the man behind that music is robust (in personality and stature) producer, Phalon Alexander bka Jazze Pha. Earlier this year, the star-maker shifted attention away from music and to his health, setting out to shed 100lbs.

Prompted by the guidance of personal trainer Kenya Crooks (notable clients include; Tameka Foster-Raymond, RHOA Deshawn Snow and Celeb Blogger Miss Jia) back in April, Jazze Pha has lost an astounding 73lbs! Attributing his success to a rigid mix of boxing, running and swimming workouts:
“I never know what to expect. [Kenya] will have me doing a boxing workout one day and then doing one of his famous pool workouts the next day. That's why I haven't hit a plateau, its always something different everyday."
Sponsoring a parallel weight loss challenge to fans and vid-chronicling the entire process, for a reality show - he's currently shopping the production to networks. With a desire to bring awareness to the dangers of obesity, he tells AllHipHop.com:
"I have the best fans in the world. The love and support that has been shown is overwhelming. It makes me feel good when people come up to me telling me they've been praying for me and how much my weight loss journey has inspired them."

This is a good look, Jazze Phizzle. ~PC

Healthworks Foundation (Non-Profit) Fitness Centers for Women

Crime and traffic are said to be deterrents to some Baltimore, Maryland residents in pursuing outdoor workouts. Added, with limited affordable fitness centers - getting and staying recreationally active can seem like a daunting task. With this challenge in mind, organizations such as the Healthworks Foundation are making strides in providing access to wellness resources in underserved/low income communities. NPR Morning Edition contributor, Sacha Pfeiffer talks with the center's founder and it's more than pleased participants:

Shoutout to Tamica Toney, who lost 80lbs with the help of the center and her 'hood' coming through at the end, lol. And to whomever produced this segment, for tossing in Bey's "Get Me Bodied". ~PC
