I was totally vibing to Jay's latest leak today ... just exemplifying in his own wordplay/metaphoric way that the past is the past. It's time to think like we've never thought, and act ... brand new. Non-effective, old methods - have run their course ... I'm off that! ;) ...

The weather was just too gorgeous not to go for a walk, today. The numbness in my legs have remained just that, no pain ... which is great! But, I was staved away from strenuous activity by my trainer ... finding things within my physical limits to get into today. Tomorrow is an off-site work day, for a presentation with a few of our clients ... then I get to go home ... sweet!!! ... Speaking of work, I'm currently working on (with my triathalon completing at-work-hubby Joel) starting a departmental "walking club" <-- (must find a new name, that just sounds a bit on the corny side to me) ... lol ... developing ... The Good: I had a great jog/run with my lovely friends this morning, just as excited as me about moving! We covered 6.5 miles today, traveling along our downtown river and central streets.
Leaving Downtown Columbus, Ohio (Skyline) blink and you'll totally miss it ... lol

The Ugly: I have been having some MS complications, I'm sensing a relapse - my legs, right arm, right side of my face, and feet are going through parathesias. Kind of like the tingling/numb sensation you get when something "falls asleep" ... This, I can handle ... But what usually follows for moi is ... imbalance, severe nerve pain, and partial vision loss. That would kind of suck at this point ... but, it's reality.

The Plan: I'm pretty sure my trainer and/or RaShad will modify (hopefully not bench me) my workouts this week ... and if my standing balance does become a factor - there's always the pool, that I'm no longer afraid to at least get in ... lol ...

With reduced activity, I'll have to really stay mindful of my food choices ... I have a genuine love of fruit and a partial love of veggies ... I tweeted about planning to increase my veggies this week to scale back on the high levels of sugar I've been consuming. Also, water, I used to pull 100+ oz a day, and find myself now in the low-to-mid 80's ... One thing about increasing activity, I've noticed I get a bit freer with food, in the mind-state that oh ... "it'll all balance out" ... lol ... no more of that ...

Thoughts: Staying positive, I can't and won't let this get me down, have some exciting things to look forward too soon, and this ... is just a minor speed bump ;) ... off to a lounge playing soca tonight ... a great way to end the week/start a new one!!! ... ttyas ~PC

Oh, lets not forget her countless tv appearances and notable debates with infamous "fatosphere" leaders ... this woman is on a mission!


Fueled by witnessing the debilitating affects of obesity in her own family, parallel to our country's patterns - she accosted her passion to put an end to practices that further exacerbate the all-too real OBESITY epidemic. TIME Controversy: Exercise Won't Make You Thin & Opposers

Fact: Americans are exercising more than ever, oddly - we're also bigger than ever! Time Magazine's recent story on the adverse effects workouts have on weight loss, has riled up many.

The overall theory stated: our bodies are naturally conditioned to hoard calories/fat at any size, so once we tap into them via an exhaustive bout of fitness - we're apt to replenish with high calorie foods, whether for reward or natural instinct. Seemingly erasing the physical extent of effort ... Not to mention the physcological effects food resistance has on the average dieter.

The author and backers are not completely discounting the benefits of exercise for general health, but do contest it being heavily related to shedding pounds. Conspiracy theorist claim this belief is fuled by the fitness indurstry and the goverment. Further, it's stressed that low-momentum movement on the regular is better than dangerous intense spurts.

There are some valid studies and scientific points outlined in the article - but, I won't be falling back anytime soon. The L.A. Times had an interesing response as did The American College of Sports Medicine. ~PC

it's august and what i've noticed is that im a far cry from where should be as i re-read my NY reso's today. better late than never though right? i've seen some progress. 7 pounds to be exact since my re-dedication 2 months ago. and it might seem little to some but im claiming it as a big step forward. my diet has been much better. i mean i've had a few fast food stops here and there but not on the regular like before. my dependence on eating out is almost gone. i finally got a gym membership. no trainer yet. i want to do my own thing to see what that does before dropping some more change. the treadmill has been my residence.
but all in all i know what it takes. we all know what it takes to
get slim it's a matter of following thorough. i wanted to get down with the "lifestyle change" momentum sweeping dieters but that was too slow. like my money, i want to see it fast. i figured if i took some meds cut my calories way down i'd lose the weight which is my objective and then work on being all the way healthy. if a get-fit-quick buy could get me out of weighing more than 200 pounds i'd be up for and then i'd learn how to do "right". that did not work. the first, second, or tenth time i tried. i wanted to trick the system. that system malfunctioned.
now i blog before you a better woman. powerful and proud that what i am doing will eventually see me out of these terrible two's. with a better chance of staying out. it took me so long to figure it out what to do when it was right there in my face the entire time. i avoided the balanced diet healthier food choices and exercising, hoping to by-pass the work it took. now i feel plain silly thinking back on it. well that's the old me. and im done with amateurish yo-yo diet ways. my last resort is the right way. current weight 224lbs (-7 total).

I know everyone's - airbrushed, but when the story is about body-love or weight issues, don't you think deleting a row (of fat) is sending the wrong message? The voice of "Big is Beautiful" seems to be reduced, by it's very own ... more and more.

I ♥ muscle cars and my city is full of them with the Mopar Nationals this weekend. Headed to the "cruise" early to stake our claim in land and count up how many people get tickets for spinning-out during the procession (it never fails) ... somebody always has to act a fool ... and when a cop does hand them a citation (mostly pre-written, they just fill in thier plate # and name as to not hold up the line) the crowd always "boo's" in unison ... lol ... This new wave of plus-conscious (some say exploitative) television programming has been widely (too easy ...lol) accepted by audiences from "Dance Your Ass Off", to "Ruby" ... and network exec$ are getting creative ... well, no ... not creative ... just taking old concepts and making us (historically ignored in entertainment) the stars ... next up, a thick Diddy-esque gig?!?
