Miss Toccara Jones of ... ANTM, Celebrity Fit Club, a slew of BET programming, and the Black issue of Italian Vogue ... oh yeah, and many male & hip-hop magazine covers ... lol ... is now capitalizing on her weight loss success. She has a new work-out dvd, that is geared towards "Real Size Women".
Most of us remember her victories and breakdowns as the first plus size female in her modeling pursuit, and that infamous rant while being evaluated in weigh-ins only to be followed by a fab finale. She had a common fear of black women ... that she would lose her voluptuous "fabulosity" and "fierceness", if she lost weight. But Toccara you have nothing to worry about girl ... as you still got it, and then some ...
What I admire about it all, is her shift in seeing this as not only losing weight ... but becoming healthier. A positive, black female (from the O-H too ;) who put her health above stardom and a booty ... In our community ... plus size is normalcy ... as is diabetes and heart disease ... so ... I hope her lifestyle sets a wonderful example ... I'll be copping the DVD ... when my income tax comes ... lol

ReplyDeleteHi Adrie ... she was featured in the historic all-black model issue in July of '08 ... Yasmin Warsame <---MY FAV ;) ... Tyra, Iman, Naomi, Gail O'Neil, Arlenis, Veronica Webb, Ubah, Dusan Reljin (sp?), Lily Taylor, Alek Wek <---of course ... and so many more ... my bff is a fashion major and all of those publications are mailed from overseas to their studios ... Toccara's shoot was fire ... she held her own among the vets and high fashion mods ...
I have the dvd and I LOVE it, its about 1 hr and she kept me laughing the whole time
